Las Vegas Neil Diamond Tribute Show
The legendary Rob Garrett’s “KING OF DIAMONDS” Vegas residency show is still thrilling audiences in the “Alexis Park Modern Showrooms” at ALEXIS PARK HOTEL.
Neil Diamond is one of the most successful and beloved singer/songwriters in rock and pop music history.
In addition to being one of the top-selling and record-breaking touring artists ever, he’s also composed the music that defined generations — including some of the most famous songs on the planet.
In January 2018, shortly before his 77th year, Neil Diamond announced his retirement from performing after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s.
However, Diamond’s concert legacy continues to be preserved for audiences across the globe through Las Vegas entertainer Rob Garrett, known as America’s premier Neil Diamond tribute performer.
Ask Siri “who is the best Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll get the same answer.
Like his musical hero, Rob Garrett was a Brooklyn, New York native.
In the spring of 1974, his parents brought him from New York City to Las Vegas, where, two years later, he witnessed his first Neil Diamond concert when Diamond debuted in Las Vegas to record crowds at the Aladdin Hotel’s “Theater for the Performing Arts” in July 1976.
Garrett went on to see him another 16 times across the country—right up until Diamond’s last American show at the LA Forum on August 12, 2017.
In 1980, Garrett started his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a decade-and-a-half career in Las Vegas and across the nation before deciding to move from cover band frontman to a tribute artist dedicated to one of his boyhood inspirations.
In 1995, Garrett was selected by Paul Revere (of The Raiders) to portray Neil Diamond in the world-famous “Legends in Concert” review.
What was meant to be a three-month trial turned into a three-year residency.
By August 1998, Garrett returned Neil Diamond tribute Las Vegas reviews home to Las Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another two years before deciding to go independent.
He began a steady touring schedule, building a devoted fan base along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds Las Vegas.”
He continues to draw packed houses nationwide, often in venues reserved for national acts.
Garrett has also earned several honors, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”
“Since Neil Diamond retired, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.
On May 19, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating his 50 years living in Las Vegas and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.
Now in the year 2025, Garrett celebrates 45 years on stage in Las Vegas, with the last three decades devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.
It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has played in more Vegas rooms than any peer.
Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the only active Neil Diamond tribute production in America.
Alexis Park Resort Hotel is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., near the Las Vegas Strip.
